A little glimpse
As Ang talks on the phone downstairs with her mother, I can hear a persistent little (although loud) voice in the background.
"Momma! Momma! Bye, Bye! Momma! Bah, Bye!"

Kuyper on Patience
"...Patience ought to be the possession of every child of God. If it is not his when he is reborn, it ought to grow within him as he grows in Christ.
Just something I’ve been thinking about lately...
But it is sadly lacking among us.

My beautiful Maya...
...just got her first pets. Two gold fish.
We think their names are "Sha-bops" and "Pee-pot." Actually, the second sounds closer to "Pol Pot" - but I'm trying to discourage that. We wouldn't want an uprising in the new fish tank.

Saturday Morning
I'm an old man.
I woke up at 7:00 A.M., took a shower, dressed, and waited... for the rest of the house to get around. Angela even called me Grandpa due to my flannel shirt and zipped up sweater I am wearing over it.
Momma got ready and Maya and I made breakfast together. A perfect english muffin - one side covered in peanut butter, the other in jelly. The two never touched. While the intricate breakfast ritual was being perfomed by the shortest member of our family, Mommy and Daddy ate english muffins and eggs. Breakfast is my favorite part of Saturday.
And now we are off to the farmer's market. It is time for pumpkins on our porch and cider on our lips. Fall is also my favorite part of Saturday.

thank you and much love.
the view from the pew
(or chair in this case)
why does it feel as though these two things shall never meet in my lifetime?

breaking the silence...
so, has it really been over a year since i've really said anything here?
there has been so much happening in life and i haven't wanted to miss a single moment with this beautiful girl:
or this one:
or whomever this may be:
so, in the middle of all the poo-poo (as Maya would put it) there is goodness and hope and peace and love in one little corner of the universe.

Thanks for showing up to the mandatory drug awareness assembly...
Just because I haven't blogged in quite awhile and these folks were on my mind...
